Wedding Options with Suffolk Registrars

Stylish, Personal, and Legally Yours

Your wedding should feel like you. Whether you're planning a chic elopement, a country house escape, or a relaxed garden gathering, we offer a range of ceremony types and locations to reflect your story, values, and style.

Ceremony Types

All our ceremonies are bespoke, inclusive and - unlike celebrant weddings - legally recognised.

If you are getting married at one of our Register Offices, you can choose between a Traditional and an Enhanced Ceremony.

Weddings at our Approved Venues, your own venue as well as Renewal of Vows Ceremonies are always Enhanced Ceremonies, though it is up to you how much or how little you personalise your ceremony:

Traditional Ceremony

A simple, elegant legal ceremony conducted by our celebrants. Perfect for couples who prefer a classic and straightforward approach. You can of course still enjoy your own music, and you have a selection of different vows to choose from.

Enhanced Ceremony

Add personal touches such as readings, unity elements, and your own vows. Shape the ceremony around your relationship and values, include your loved ones and make it extra special.

Unity Ceremony Elements

Symbolic gestures that add emotional depth and visual beauty to your day:

  • Sand Ceremony – A graceful blend of lives, memories and families
  • Tying the Knot – A modern twist on a timeless tradition, using the Fisherman’s Knot to symbolise the enduring strength of your love
  • Ring Warming – A special moment of connection and well-wishes

Unity elements are only available as part of an Enhanced Ceremony.
